Grass-veneer Moth on Blade

A grass-veneer moth (Crambus sp.) clings vertically to a thin grass stem near the lower right of the frame. The moth's narrow wings are tan and dark brown with longitudinal streaks; a shallow depth of field renders surrounding grass stems as blurred pale shapes. The single visible compound eye and a small frayed tuft at the wing tip are clearly discernible in the close crop.
