Springtail on Orange Slime Mold

A springtail (Collembola) sits on clustered orange slime mold sporangia growing on decaying wood. Warm amber-orange spheres occupy the lower frame against dark brown wood, photographed in close close-up with shallow focus. The springtail's antennae and tiny hairs are sharply rendered against the fuzzy surface of the sporangia.
