Winged Lion Relief with Book

A carved stone relief of a winged lion holding an open book sits mounted on an aged exterior wall. The pale limestone medallion contrasts with the dark, mottled plaster; soft daylight brings out worn edges and surface texture. The medallion has small chips and a thin band of greenish staining around its top.
