Bird's Nest Fungus Cup

A bird's nest fungus cup sits on a piece of dark, decaying bark. The pale gray cup contrasts with blackened wood and is photographed with a very shallow depth-of-field so the background dissolves into soft circular highlights. The cup's rim and interior show a granular, powdery surface with tiny speckled particles.
