Red-eyed Striped Fly on Plant

A red-eyed striped fly rests on a broad leaf near the lower left of the frame. Its orange-red compound eyes and pale gray body with dark thoracic stripes are sharply focused against a soft, diffuse green background. Tiny bristles on the legs and the fine veins of a folded wing are clearly visible at this scale.
