Dew on Fern Fronds

Fern fronds hold beads of water along their paired pinnules and stand upright across the frame. The image is rendered in high-contrast black-and-white with backlit highlights on the droplets and a shallow depth of field that centers the composition on the middle fronds. Tiny surface dots and short hairs are visible on each pinnule where the water beads cling, giving the rows a string-of-glass-beads appearance.
