Dried Brown Gilled Fungus

A dried brown gilled fungus grows from leaf litter and decayed wood at ground level. The image shows warm brown, tan, and cream tones in soft, diffuse light with a very shallow depth of field that keeps the ruffled cap sharp while the background blurs. The cap's tightly folded gills have a papery texture with faint lighter edges.
