Oyster Mushroom Gills

Oyster mushroom gills fill the frame, photographed edge-on so the stacked plates run vertically. The gills are creamy beige and translucent, lit from behind by warm, diffuse light against a soft out-of-focus background. A small dark speck clings to one gill near the lower center of the image.
