Cabbage White on Buddleia

A cabbage white butterfly (Pieris rapae) is feeding on a purple buddleia spike. The pale cream wings with a single dark forewing spot sit in the lower right while dense purple blossoms fill the left, all lit by soft daylight and shot with a shallow depth of field. Notice the fine speckled wing scales and the short fringe of hairs along the wing edge in the frame.
