Carpenter Bee in Flight

A carpenter bee hovers in midair near the right edge of the frame. Its pale yellow thorax and glossy dark abdomen sit in soft, neutral light against a broad, out-of-focus taupe-gray background; the wings show motion blur. One antenna tilts upward and the legs are drawn close to the body.
