Procuratie Vecchie Façade, Venice

The Procuratie Vecchie façade on Piazza San Marco in Venice fills the frame with its rows of arched windows. The scene is rendered in black-and-white with bright midday sun and strong contrast that emphasizes three horizontal tiers of arcades and circular oculi. A line of café umbrellas and scattered pedestrians at ground level give the façade scale and activity in the frame.
