Crane Fly Eye and Antennae

A crane fly clings to a blade of grass with its long legs while one segmented antenna points upward. Its amber body and metallic blue compound eye are lit by soft natural light against a smooth, out-of-focus green background, with a very shallow depth of field isolating the head. Fine hairs on the antenna segments and the hexagonal facets of the eye are clearly visible.
