Common Housefly Close-up

A common housefly (Musca domestica) perches on a plant surface near the lower right of the frame. Its orange-red compound eyes and striped grey thorax are sharply focused against a softly blurred pale green background. The frame reveals individual bristles on the legs and the hexagonal facets of the eye.
