Yellow Slime Mold on Rock

Yellow slime mold (likely Fuligo septica) spreads across a dark, weathered rock surface. The image shows a bright mustard-yellow, finely reticulated mass set against charcoal-gray rock, photographed with a very shallow depth of field so the central network is sharp while foreground and background blur. Along the right edge small glossy droplets cling to the stone beside frayed strands of the plasmodium.
