Tiny Umbrella Fungus on Log

A tiny umbrella fungus grows from leaf litter and a piece of decaying wood at the lower right of the frame. The photograph is rendered in black-and-white with a very shallow depth of field: the cap and thin stem are sharply in focus while foreground and background blur into soft gray tones and bright highlights. The cap's rim shows a small nick and fine radial gill lines visible at this scale.
