Egret on Rusted Chain

An egret is perched on a moss- and algae-covered chain over still water. The bird's white feathers and filmy back plumes stand out against the cool green-gray water; the frame is a mid-close portrait showing head, body and legs. Its long black bill and scaly dark legs are visible, and its toes grip the corroded links.
