Bird's-Nest Fungus with Peridioles

A bird's-nest fungus cup sits on a piece of decaying wood holding several round peridioles. The image shows muted brown and beige tones with directional side light and a very shallow depth of field that blurs the background. The peridioles have a pitted, coin-like texture and the cup rim shows fine fibrous detail.
