Winged Lion on Column

The Winged Lion of Saint Mark stands on its column at the edge of Piazza San Marco. A deep blue dusk sky fills most of the frame while a line of ornate street lamps glows warm and the Doge's Palace facade appears at left. A thin crescent moon hangs above the lion and the wet pavement picks up the lamplight.
