Pleurotus ostreatus gills

Pleurotus ostreatus gills fill the lower frame and are photographed from the underside in a tight close-up. Cream and beige gill plates catch warm side light against a cool gray, out-of-focus background with soft highlights on the edges. A faint ring of airborne spores and dust motes appears as tiny pinprick highlights between the ribs.
