San Simeone Piccolo Dome

The dome of San Simeone Piccolo sits above the Grand Canal, crowning the church's waterfront façade. Green-patinated copper panels and vertical streaks of oxidation are lit by a soft, overcast sky while a seagull crosses the frame near the lantern. The composition also shows the classical portico and striped mooring poles at the waterline, and the bird's wing nearly aligns with the dome's lantern in this shot.
