Mushroom Gills in Grass

Mushroom gills lie exposed on the underside of a small fallen mushroom in grass. The image is rendered in monochrome with a wide close crop and strong midtones that emphasize the radiating ridges and the pale broken stem. Fine granular spore dust coats the gill edges and the broken stem cuts diagonally across the frame.
