Bracket Polypore on Trunk
A bracket polypore fungus is attached to the vertical trunk of a mature tree, forming layered shelf-like brackets. The shelves have pale beige undersides with darker brown rims set against deeply ridged grey-brown trunk, photographed in soft diffuse light and framed as a vertical close-up. The underside shows small pitted pores and darker stains where the shelves overlap.
