Dried Composite Seed Head

The dried composite seed head sits near the lower center of the frame on the end of a thin stem. The photograph shows desaturated gray-beige and brown tones with soft side light and a wide blur that isolates the subject. Several petals are papery and ribbed, with tiny black seed specks caught in the creases.
