Cluster of slender-stemmed mushrooms

A cluster of slender-stemmed mushrooms is growing tightly on a decaying log. The caps range from cream to warm brown with a glossy, wet surface; soft directional light and a shallow depth of field keep the nearest caps sharp against a dark background. A curled fragment of leaf rests on the central cap and small water beads cling to the surfaces.
