Water Lily Bud on Pad

A water lily bud rises on a slender stalk above a pond of lily pads. The photograph is rendered in black-and-white, with the pale bud lit against a darker, out-of-focus water surface and a low horizon; the bud sits near the lower third of the frame. One petal shows a small nick near its tip.
