Purple Aster Buds

Purple aster buds sit on fuzzy green stems, several still tightly closed and one beginning to open. The image shows pale lavender petals against a soft gray-green background with diffuse, even light and a very shallow depth of field. Thin strands of spider silk connect the buds and catch the light near the center bud.
