Sweat Bee on Yellow Petal

A sweat bee (Halictidae) perches on the rim of a yellow petal. The bee's dark, hairy body and large compound eyes sit against a soft, blurred green background under even daylight, with a shallow depth of field placing the insect at the lower center of the frame. A tiny speck of yellow pollen clings to its mouthparts.
