Pipevine Swallowtail on Foliage

A pipevine swallowtail butterfly perches on the edge of a green leaf with its wings held closed. The underside of the wings reads as dark blue-black with rows of orange spots; the scene is lit in soft natural light against a smooth, out-of-focus green background. The outer margin of the upper wing is torn and ragged, with several missing sections of wing scale visible.
