Yellow Tortoise Beetle on Wood

A yellow tortoise beetle sits on the edge of weathered wood, facing outward. Soft daylight picks out its glossy yellow shell against pale gray wood and a wide, out-of-focus green background; the insect appears very small at the left of the frame. Its fine, comb-like antennae and a tiny black eye are visible in the close focus.
