Robber Fly on Twig

A robber fly perches at the tip of a dried twig, shown straight-on with its head facing the camera. The image centers on the fly's large iridescent reddish-brown compound eyes with green edges, set against a soft, out-of-focus green background and even natural light. Fine pale facial hairs (mystax) and the orange-and-black forelegs are clearly visible beneath the eyes.
