Housefly on Speckled Twig

A housefly perches on a pale, speckled twig near the lower left of the frame. Its red compound eyes and brown thorax sit beneath wings that show iridescent pink and purple sheens, caught in side light against a dark, out-of-focus background. You can even see the tiny hairs on the thorax and the wing veins at this scale.
