Long-legged Fly on Grass Blade

A long-legged fly (Dolichopodidae) is perched on a diagonal grass blade near the right side of the frame. Its metallic green and yellow body and iridescent purple-tinged wings catch side light against a deep black background, with shallow focus isolating the insect from the blade. The fly appears to be holding a small dark prey between its front legs.
