Adoration of the Shepherds Triptych

The Adoration of the Shepherds triptych sits behind glass in a museum display, its three arched painted panels set in a gilded wooden frame. The panels show crowded figures in bright reds, greens and blues beneath a cool, clouded sky with two cherubs above; the frame and case produce small reflections on the surface. In the central panel a donkey leans over the newborn, its head close to the infant at the composition's center.
