Black Caterpillar on Forest Floor

A black caterpillar lies on dried detritus near the lower edge of the frame. The segmented body is matte black with tiny glints of moisture, lit by soft diffuse light and photographed with a very shallow depth of field so only the midsection is sharp. Several small circular spiracles are visible along the side of the segments.
