Hosta Foliage Ridges

Hosta foliage fills the frame in a tight close-up that follows its parallel, undulating ridges. The photograph is rendered in black-and-white with strong side light that throws bright highlights on the ridges and a shallow depth of field that blurs the background. Small surface hairs and fine dust are visible along several of the ridges.
