Pair of Pileated Woodpeckers

Two pileated woodpeckers are perched on a vertical tree trunk high in the canopy. Their black bodies and bright red crests stand out against a clear cyan sky and olive-yellow foliage in a low-angle, vertical close-up. The trunk's pale lichen patches and rough bark texture are clearly visible in the foreground.
