Herring Gull Floating on Water

A herring gull floats in the lower right of the frame on dark green water. Its white head and grey wings are evenly lit; the yellow bill and pale webbed feet are visible and a muddy bank runs across the top edge. The gull's right foot is lifted above the surface and small strands of algae drift nearby.
