Undulating Oyster Mushroom Gills

Oyster mushroom gills fill the frame, fanning outward from the stem and photographed from beneath. The photograph is rendered in black-and-white with directional light that picks out the ridged edges and leaves deep gray tones in the folds. A small tuft of stem tissue near the center catches the brightest highlight in the frame.
