Large Tree Trunk from Below

A large tree trunk fills the lower frame, photographed straight up toward its bare upper branches. The rough dark-brown and gray wood contrasts with a pale overcast sky and thin, spidery branches at the top of the frame. A deep vertical fissure and patches of peeling older wood are visible near the center of the trunk.
