Mushroom Gills Close-Up

Mushroom gills fill the frame, showing the underside of a cap in extreme close-up. The photograph is black-and-white with soft, diffuse lighting and a very shallow depth of field so the ribs and fine hairs appear as layered gray tones. A darker, textured ridge crosses the top center while faint, hairlike fibrils fan out near the lower edge.
