Polypore Mushroom Cap Edge

A polypore mushroom cap edge lifts to reveal its porous underside and a ruffled translucent margin. The photograph shows beige and tan spores against a soft grey-to-black background, shot in very shallow focus so the rim and pore surface are the sharpest elements. You can see a fine dusting of powdery spores collecting in the pores and along the curled margin.
