Bird Feather Close-Up

A bird feather fills the frame, photographed in tight close-up so the individual barbs run diagonally across the image. The picture is rendered in black and white with bright highlights on the shaft and thin midtone grays in the background; the framing emphasizes repeating linear ribs. You can see the tiny hooked barbules and a dotted texture along some barbs where light catches the edges.
