Painted Houses on Burano

A row of painted houses sits around a small paved square on the island of Burano. The facades read as blocks of magenta, cobalt blue, pale pink, yellow and mint green beneath a clear sky, and the photographer used a low, wide vantage to include the stone pavement. A small roadside Madonna shrine and a clothesline are visible on the pink building at right.
