Three Inkcap Fungi on Wood

Three inkcap fungi are growing from a piece of decaying wood near the bottom of the frame. The photograph is black-and-white with soft, even lighting and a very shallow depth of field that renders the background into smooth gradients. The mushroom caps show fine radial ridges at their rims and a faint fibrous texture, with one cap sitting slightly above the others.
