Nicrophorus Beetle on Polypore

Nicrophorus beetle climbs the edge of a pale polypore (shelf) fungus. The beetle's black body and orange elytral markings sit against tan, cream and grey fungus tones with soft side light and a very blurred background. The antennae and the fungus's layered pore texture are sharply in focus while the rest of the frame falls away.
