About
David Weight
I photograph macro nature and quiet places, almost all of it close to home in Michigan. The small things first — petals, wings, frost, the way light sits on a leaf — and then the wide, empty places that ask for patience and an early start.
The work is made on foot, usually alone, and edited slowly. Colour and contrast, nothing replaced: no composites, no swapped skies. What you download is the frame that came out of the camera.
Photographs are sold as full-resolution digital downloads to print wherever you like, and a selection is available as fine art prints made to order on cotton rag or lustre paper.
Why digital downloads
The file is yours — full resolution, no watermark, no print restrictions. Send it to whatever lab you trust, print it yourself, drop it into a photo book, put it on a card. I'm not interested in owning your printing decisions — I'm interested in the image getting used. Framed, gifted, flipped through, whatever. That's the point of making it in the first place.
