Ant on Lichen-Covered Bark

An ant crawls along a ridge on lichen-covered tree bark. The close crop shows rough gray-brown bark in sharp detail at the lower left while the background melts into soft green and gray bokeh under diffuse daylight. A small crack in the bark and the ant's raised antennae are visible where it pauses at the edge.
