Arched Canal Water Door

An arched canal water door sits at canal level recessed into a crumbling brick and stucco wall. The plank door is painted dark green with peeling paint, topped by a semicircular wrought-iron grille and pale stone surround; the frame is shot head-on and cropped tightly. Green algae marks the masonry at the waterline and a small succulent grows from a crack in the stone lintel.
