Blue Jay on Spruce Top

A blue jay perches at the tip of a spruce branch near the top of the frame. The bird's blue, white, and black feathers are set against a bright, overexposed sky and the needles read blue-gray in the soft light. The jay's crest is lifted and the black facial stripe is sharply defined against its white head.
