Saint Nicholas Mosaic Panel

Saint Nicholas mosaic panel sits recessed on a church façade behind a marble balcony column. Tiny metallic gold tesserae form a bright, reflective background around his red bishop's mitre and grey beard, with pale marble columns and a balustrade framing the view. A tall column partly blocks the figure and the black-letter inscription "S NICOLAVS" appears at the upper right.
